A quick note. I didn't like using shunt resistors to measure current. Current transformers are complex and expensive, so my design uses the natural resistance of the power connectors. It has zero cost, adds no extra power loss and is simple to measure. It only needs to be calibrated. I use an ESP32 rather than a raspberry pi because I get a free ADC and the ESP32 seems to be actually obtainable.
