I probably have 3 months at least before I even get into my food preps.

I saw a story on the news last week about government workers complaining about the shutdown and how they had to go to foodbanks. This was like a week after the shutdown started. Every. Single. One. Was a nigger. Every one.

This was like a week after the shutdown started.

Yes! That shit is insane.

[–] 3 pts

They didn't have to and you can bet that at least half of them took the "free" food and sold it. It's common with those people. They used it to buy booze, drugs or "snacks".

I worked in gov for far too long. My experience with them is that many of them could be making 90k+/yr renting (cheap) and still lived paycheck to paycheck.

Most often because of shit decisions like getting a cash advance for something and not saving for 2 months instead or wanting a new car when they have a perfectly good paid off car that is just "old".

Fuck these morons. I'm not even talking about the worst ones. These are the average ones I had to work with over my time in gov.

[–] 6 pts

The problem is normalcy bias. Plus the fact they can't see more than an hour into the future.

Ifail to understand how anyone on a steady check does not have an emergency pantry/ stash. Oh, niggers. Fuck israel

[–] 4 pts

You're talking about mostly '15 second niggers' here. There's your answer :)

[–] 1 pt

Why would they buy food for a completely different nigger?

[–] 3 pts

The bigger issue I'm hearing from coworkers is that it's house/car payments. My field is begining furloughs next week and MANY of the staff are panicking. Food banks will keep you alive, but they're just hoping that banks will have plans in place for people who rely on government checks so they don't get repoed/foreclosed on

[–] 1 pt

If you have those payments it is even more important to have an emergency fund. I bet many of these people have cars with payments that exceed what they should have bought compared to their salary.

I can't comment to specifically without doxxing myself, but I will say this: The place I work and my coworkers I work with are part of the government which are NOTORIOUSLY underpaid for the duty they do. It also doesn't help that Colorado has become nearly as expensive as the rest of the west coast to live in. I understand your sentiment, but in this situation, it's not entirely accurate to think it's a bunch of niggers with gibs money.

Plenty of whites over extend themselves with cars as well from what I have seen. My view on this might be biased since I drive my cars well past when they are paid off. I just recently bought a new truck with 10 grand down and have been making double payments each month with the goal having it payed off in 2 years. I understand most people don't buy cars this way. I don't think my next payment is even due until March because of the double payments.

Obama said anyone with a month’s food (or more) was a terrorist, because that was “prepping”. If a blizzard was coming, people would rush to the grocery store because they didn’t have 3 days worth of food at home. People just can’t look forward far enough to see why it may be a good idea to keep extra canned goods on hand.

[–] 3 pts

Remember to buy canned oranges. If we ever get a disaster that goes on for more than a month, people who think they're preppers because they bought a bunch of canned peas will learn otherwise.

[–] 2 pts

Sauerkraut for me. The best prep is something you normally eat that way you can keep rotating it out and I don't eat canned fruit.

[–] 2 pts

Yes, good point, fruits with vitamin C, canned meat, vitamins, salt, condiments, basic medicine, cheap vodka for antiseptic and pain killer, etc. beans and rice will fill your stomach, but they have little other than calories, and you’ll get bored to death of that diet, you need spices and salt too in addition to essential nutrients.

Obama did more damage than any president since Woodrow Wilson and LBJ. I guess I'm one of those terrorist preppers. I don't know how many months of food I have but it would probably last me at least three months. I'm sure I'd be sick of eating rice and beans, but I'd be alive.

I'd wager his motive for saying this was to keep people as dependent on government as possible.

Yea, retards. Take a reasonable amount of monthy salary and save it. It's not quantum physics and most people earn more than they immediately need.

I've been offered a few government jobs, the last one with the NWS.

It's scary stupid how little some of those jobs pay, especially the ones that expect you to work in the beltway. Sure, $60k sounds great - if you're in Nowhere, Ohio.

A friend of mine who went to some facility in DC to do systems training on an electronics device said that no one there knew even basic maintenance on the stuff, and his fixing little issues was just magic. Said they offered him a job at a pay rate that was laughable where he lives now, and would be impossible in DC.

I heard that government workers on average make more than their private sector counterparts, but there probably is the issue of now you have to live in a more expensive area as you say.

[–] 1 pt

I'd always heard that too, but that's not been my experience.

Some examples. The person that went to DC? I know where that device is going, and the exact location because I was offered a chance to interview there. It's way up north. 60k a year. The only good thing about that is you're not able to spend it. He was also offered 60k a year to live in the beltway to do the job at this facility. Both are government.

I was offered the chance to interview for some RADAR station out on an atoll in the middle of fucking nowhere. I think the Marshall Islands...60k a year. The NWS job paid the most, it was closer to 70k - not enough to live in the beltway. A guy I worked with recently left his company to go work for a government entity as an IT professional. Paid less, but had a little better benefits. That was his plus, being able to take care of his kids without breaking the bank.

The most I've ever been offered was 80k on a contract to go work the old Hawk Missiles, doing repairs (the missle console in the Six Million Dollar Man.) Reason: I know both vacuum electronics and digital electronics. Not many people out there like me that aren't 80. They offered 80k on contract, no bennies. I told them that was not a valid number.

Just for comparison, the jobs I mentioned first probably pay about 65k minimum in nowhere, Ohio.

[–] 1 pt

Marshall Islands would be a cool experience but I don't think I'd like being so far a way from everyone I know long term.

That Hawk Missile thing sounds cool, and I have no idea about pay in this field, but 80k sounds low for the incredibly niche knowledge you're stating they required.

[–] 1 pt

They need they fried chickin

[–] 1 pt

The pay is shit and most of them are retarded blacks.

But also, its hard to save when you don't want things to go unpaid.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

Government works on average make more and have better benefits than their private sector counterparts, but stupid bird mentioned that often you have to live in a higher cost of living area, so I guess it could be a wash.

[–] 1 pt

on average make more and have better benefits

True that. They love to spend other peoples' money.
