I can't believe they're forcing me to take the digital vaxx for my own safety.

I don't even use github for development anymore, just to report bugs for projects I'm interested in. It seems like they're legit planning to cut off every bit of functionality if you're not willing to comply. I'm considering giving them a fake number just to shut them up. Anyone unfortunate enough to have to work with this shit has my condolences.

Looks like it's time to export all the stuff I have there and delete the account.

If they want it for 2FA, then you'll need a real number.

edit - when in and deleted mine, they didn't ask for any 2FA.

I'm sure the fake phone service that can receive messages could work just fine for one time use, and then just use an auth app (which are all terrible btw). The entire 2FA thing stinks extra hard nowadays.
