I'm trying to order some parts for a Hallicrafters S38-C rebuild, and the only method the company takes is paypal.

Normally you can just pay as a guest, and not create an account with the processor - just like every other payment processor in the world, but not with this place. I suspect it's more of a "I don't know what I'm doing" with the company but still. paypal just sucks, it sucks bad, and it's sucked since the day it was created.

Why do companies still use that payment processor? They have such inane walking on glass policies that it's only a matter of time before you get burnt with them.

I use PayPal for freelance work because it's free and has a good invoicing system where I can issue invoices on the spot through my phone.

I do hate them and would change for something better if I was aware of it.

I understand that it has uses, but why force me to create an account just to send you money?

You don't have to do that, you can pay through the invoice in email by using a card. I'm not sure if it's the same if you are ordering online.

In this case, the vendor isn't invoicing me, they're passing a request to paypal to collect $X.

I realize that's a thin line, but the only piece of information paypal gets is collect money and return it to the vendor. They don't know why or for what. When I attempt to pay it, it only gives me the option to create an account so I can pay it.

Usually, there's "Pay as a guest," but for some reason that's missing for this one.
