Replacing my garbage disposal today. Turns out the unit I have the Badger 5 is only sold online, so I have to wait to have it shipped. The Badger 500 is essentially the same unit but sold in store and costs 40 dollars more for... Reasons?

Fuck off Home Depot.

You pay for the convenience lolololol

I found a post online where a person claimed they were able to get the 500 at the same price after talking to an associate. I'm about to leave to buy a faucet. Figured I'd upgrade that while the disposal is out. If I can actually track down an employee I'll ask.

Here is my hack for finding an employee in Home Depot: 1. Find one of those large orange stair cases on wheels that they have in some aisles.
2. Push the stairs out into a main aisle, then into some other aisle. 3. Park the stairs and walk up them. Employees will come running from all over the place to ask you if you need help.

Awesome name for a disposal!

Garbage disposals are dumb to begin with. Don't put solid shit down your sink.

I kind of like them. Less old food filling and stinking up my garbage bin. Problem is people put crap in them that they shouldn't. This one has lasted probably 10 years or so and it is a cheap model.

Disposals are good for apartments, in theory. They eliminate some garbage stench from food waste, stuff that could be composted or taken outside more conveniently in a home with a outside area.

People are gonna be dumb of course. There's even small kitchen composters now, so they are kind of obsolete.

Don't forget the badger 5 does not come with a power cord you will have to buy that seperate!

Good looking out. I did see that. Pulling the cord from the old one.

That works just fine. I install dozens of these a year for rentals so I always gotta play safe and buy a new cord.

Same thing any time I do a toilet fill valve or faucet I get new supply lines.

Menards is better

I always forget about them tbh. They are newer to this market, but there is one close enough.
