Just got done with one of my friends ... and i can safely say this person should never be left alone near a gun. so many rules were broken, broke the assumption that a gun is always loaded, didn't bother to point in a safe direction, didn't check the chamber, dry fired into other people. had to take away the guns within minutes because i was about to have a heart attack over their behavior

This is always good advice because this is not uncommon. I hope your friend was open to polite instruction and teaching. If all went well, you may have saved the life of someone who goes with him in the future when your not there.

They were, they hadn't shot in decades, so didn't remember that range rules don't always apply in a house or a more public location. sure, at the range you point downstream, and you're fine. That is not reflective of how to handle a firearm outside the range though
