That's because we don't have a capitalist economy and these companies don't have proper competition and don't get their money from the consumers if they don't need to. The stock market is a laundering system for getting tax dollars to mega corp's employees' salaries. That's why the politicians get rich exclusively off of it. They know when to get their cut of the money being delivered to the corps from them. No competition and no need to get money from the customer means no giving a shit if money is spent well and a good job is done. Just spend it on more free loading ego chums.
