Here it's poal, it's not voat

Many of the old timers here were also on voat at one point or another, and many, just like me, got a voat fatigue at some point

See starwars?

Voat was the galactic empire with its army of deranged siths, clones and drones and mindless "yes sir"

Empire's gone, poof

And it's not a bad thing because the herd mentality and vote brigading, down or up, rendered the whole place sterile in the end , in terms of discussion, it became one giant echo chamber and most of its userbase suffered from tunel vision as a result. What's the point of making an argument if what you say will be downvoated to shit or upvoated to the moon according to its real or supposed alignment with the "party line" or according to who's the means to downvote to shit (number of internet points)?

So in the end "just call him a jew and downvote brigade" that's how half of discussions ended. And I couldn't care less personally because I had as much if not more internet points that I have now, here. But it was a sad and pathetic show, to watch newcomers or not so new users getting downvoted to shit while they had a valid point. That's intellectual laziness, dishonesty, it's pathetic, and it's a bad habit, it's a vice, because once you're out of the "voatsafespace" you can't argue for shit because you trained like shit

Here it's more mandalore underground, we're together and that doesn't mean we necessarily all love each others or agree on everything, and that's fine. And yes we sometimes get at each others throat, sometimes on a regular basis, and that also makes us stronger rhetorically speaking
