it isn't that they are stupid, but that societies always split into roughly Left and Right groups, this isn't accidental, it is (I believe) down to genetic drivers, that basically one group thinks that grass always grows therefore eat all of it, and the other that knows that droughts happen too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/K_selection_theory
