The only time I wasn't able to change my own tire was when i discovered the used car I bought 5 years prior didn't have it's tire iron, so I had to have my friend bring me one.

Reminder to check on the one you have too. My dad had his iron but the nuts were these two piece deals that had swollen and the iron no longer fit on. Had to go one size up to make it work.

Actually... I've never done that before so I might be caught off guard by that one. And if it's second hand it might not have a manual.

I'm guessing there's a hidden bolt somewhere you have to loosen?

Same here. I can do the basics. Change tires, oil, brakes. That's about the extent of my knowledge though.

My little boy and girl will show me that they can change a tire before they ever get behind the wheel.

Yeah. I've done more complicated things by using the manual and youtube but I still wouldn't say I'm knowledgeable about those things. I would still need assistance if I needed to do it again.
