The major issue is head gasket problems. I'm not saying you can't find one that's in good condition if the thermostats been changed pretty much annually but it's just not worth the risk. Unless you're someone that has the knowledge and ability to do time-consuming repairs yourself. Sometimes the engine repairs exceed the cost people pay for these cars. They are tempting because they are cheap but they are cheap for a reason and that reason is the known issues with the Northstar.
