You were always really cool and nice when I was a little kid. Christmas was magical. You had a great series of classic cars and you almost made sure they never broke down. I went to band practice on time and got picked up every single time, even when it was four times a week. You got donuts every Saturday morning. You showed me how to use computers when I was 10 and set me on a path of riches. You let me know how good were Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, and ELP. You were like the best dad ever. Goodbye. 1956-2024

Thanks, everyone for the sentiments. We had the funeral yesterday. It was kind of surreal, but it drove home that he's gone forever. Before now, I'd only been to grandparent funerals, and I just kind of felt like it was okay because they were old, but this time I'm sad like the time I lost my wife and kids.
