"this demographic dilemma of a collapsing consumer base for the west's credit-based economies..." https://poal.co/s/TellPoal/571814/d6617b80-d9a7-4fab-9d79-3810edb9db7f
As it is, our entire economic system, as in "credit-based economies", is completely flawed, it can't serve the best long term interests of our people, to begin with, it just can't
And on top of that, we have a loyalty/moral integrity problem at the leadership level and not only at that level. No system or society, can survive a prolonged exposure to widespread "corruption", it's just doomed to fail
That being said, regarding economics, you can have a materially prosperous nation without resorting to capitalism internally, look at saudi arabia, look at all those princes and cousins, saudi citizens, who are factually on welfare, they get paid for just being themselves. Look at gaddafi's Lybia, same deal pretty much, massive .gov intervention in the economy, lots of free shits. Is that desirable ultimately? There are downsides...
Now the trick for those systems to work, is that you have to shit goldbars or piss oil every morning, you have to happen to sit on fucktons of valuable natural resources, which the west lacks, for the most part...
