40+ years of aviation here, no flat earth. I’ve seen the horizon and it is descending. It just goes round and round. I’ve followed the sun and had some very long days, I’ve also flown against the sun and had some very short nights and short days. Venus is the number one thing mistaken for a ufo. It twinkles sometimes. I’ve spent hours arguing about it. Chasing it in the night sky. It kept us awake through the night. We were called by ATC to identify traffic while flying the NATS. We mistook Venus for other airplanes all the time. Good times.
