He was the best horror fiction writer that ever lived. One of the best writers overall to be born in America.

Lovecraft was one of the best storytellers. His writing itself was not exceptional. But some of the best writers can't tell a decent story. His stories were exceptional. King is similar but lost the ability to tell a good story decades ago. Now he just sucks.

To illustrate my point better, Mervyn Peake was a truly exceptional writer. Gormenghast is no Lord of the Rings though.

In my opinion, Robert E Howard and Gene Wolfe are the best of both.

King is a compulsive writer. He'll write anything, no matter how absurd. It makes for a large pile of trash littered with tiny gems.
My favorite short of his is about toy soldiers coming to life and fighting a war in some guy's house. Stupid idea, but he just runs with it. The man is stupified as he is hit with tiny bullets. Eventually they set off a tiny nuke. End of story.

Holy shit. Ive been living in this shithole for thirty very miserable fucking years soon to mercifully end. Thankfully at least out the East End of the Island and not Jew York Shitty. Ive had alot of names and observations about this raging tire that masquerades as a free state but this is THE best description of that fetid festering sewer that I have ever read.

Thanks. Actually hit a setback in that plan yesterday. The land we picked in Sturgis SD failed its PERC test so that parcel is out unfortunately. Wife is really upset but hey just gotta go back to the drawing board.

It is a quote from a letter H.P. Lovecraft wrote in 1931. His letters are priceless and come from a time we really need to bring back.

"Race & civilisation are more important, according to this point of view, than concrete political or economic status; so that the weakening of any racial culture by political division is to be regarded as an unqualified evil— justifiable only by the most extreme provocation." ––from a letter written February 26, 1932.

Clearly he is correct otherwise the enemies of the West would have worked so hard for decades on end to flood Western nations with non-whites.

This is supposedly from one of his letters if I remember correctly. I think they are available in some books.

Unlike his stories, it doesn't look like anyone has made an effort to put them online.
