“The mass of men lead lives of quiet deperation.”

So true in today’s world. These workaday sissies would never do something that would jeopardize their precious, little beancounter jobs.”

I tried reading Walden, and put it down just 1.5 chapters in. Never tried to read any other of his works. He just seems so self-absorbed and willing to leech off others without doing any work himself. I found the whole premise of his time in the woods to be lazy and lacking in any industriousness. Maybe I missed something, but I grew up in western MA (many many moons ago) and he is regarded as a hero of sorts in the intellectual circles out there. Never understood the idol-worship of Thoreau.

edit: leech, not leach.

He walked to town nearly every day, it was not far. Also, he had his laundry picked up by a Chink. Just another lazy malcontent who refused to get a real job.

I don’t really have anything of substance to add to this, so I’ll just MUH DICK stage left.

It's all good man! I wasn't bashing you, just expressing my (not so humble) opinion. Contrary to popular belief, it is good to have discussion and even disagreement. Get back on the stage and keep posting good stuff.

Thanks. I was joking, though,
