This is the cynosure of the litany.
The point is to see that there was never something to fear to begin with.
The purpose of the litany is that repetition reifes this fact, incrementally, at whatever pace your own mind may proceed.
This litany, like them all, is not merely something to say; it is a process, by which you, a man, may become something stronger and greater than you otherwise thought possible.
But you have to do the work.

Fear is what invites control and subdues thought. It must be purged.
