This is true but not for the reason in the meme. It's true because our software IS our hardware, and our hardware not only has dedicated (as well as general) circuitry it is PLASTIC and can be excercised like a muscle.

I have a theory that in our heads exists loser circuitry and winner circuitry. I'm not sure he is referring to that circuitry but it touches on the edges of these two circuits for sure. You can engage winner and loser circuitry separately ... I don't actually know how I do it, but roughly speaking if I hear negative words in my head or visualize negative images in my head I force that to stop and use different imagery and visuals. My thinking on the evolutionary explanation for the existence of those two circuits is that highly social (highly networked) species need to care and protect the core capital assets and invest some percentage of their dividends in risky exploration. Most people engage the loser circuitry as part of the energy conservation behaviour to conserver and protect the capital assets of the tribe. Those that turn on winner circuitry expend a lot more energy chasing riskier behaviour and most of these guys fail, but the small percentage that succeeds brings back the riches to the tribe and everyone benefits.

This meme is talking about a similar procedure. You are engaging different circuitry in your brain by using different words and different imagery.

And, because humans literally have a part of their brain dedicated to housing mirror neurons whose only job (as far as I have read) is to mirror the emotions of your tribe members, how you "feel" about your self will mirror into the group.
