Crossbows (and bows in general - especially compound bows) are still very effective weapons. I’ve been encouraging everyone to buy several and learn to shoot them.
Effective for what exactly? They have a single shot before needing to reload, a short range, low velocity and are incredibly bulky. As far as I can see the only thing they have going for them is cost of shooting.
