It's because of sheer size of the population that they still have a decent amount of geniuses. Say 0.1% have an IQ of over 120, that's like 1.4 million smart people since their population is nearly 1.4 billion. Plus, I believe they were originally white-ish (indo-aryan) so it's probably the less diluted ones in present day that contribute to their science and technology fields. There are huge amounts of diversity in their population since they've been race mixed to hell and back for hundreds (if not thousands) of years. Indians are essentially a present day look at what the end results of the kalergi plan will bring.
