Why not? You seem to believe that, winning the war was somehow the objective of the US presence in afghanistan at any point

What is there to win? How do you even win? By achieving peace in afghanistan by sending thousands of troops to patrol and kill an infinite number of muslims? Doesn't make much sense you have to admit.
