Went to the local auction, had a good time!

I was told this were jumbo browns, but looking online the white are supposed to be texas a&m jumbo. Not sure how that compares. Ruck, did I fuck up? $2 each. Do they need heat still?

I also purchased a pair of Peking ducks.

And a pair of bantam game chickens. These are for my five year old. He calls these road runner chickens and has wanted them for a couple years.

And my daughter purchased an angora rabbit with her allowance.

Ducks are really easy to herd, especially when they're tame. Both arms out and they'll go forward. Right arm out and they'll go left. Left arm, go right. Repeat whatever command you choose the whole time it's happening. They'll learn.

Let them eat out of your hand so they know you're cool. Pick them up even if they don't like it at first. Toss them a worm.

Mine know "go to bed". I can also point at an individual (or couple/few) doing something stupid and say "ducks, get out of there" which results in them rejoining the rest.

That's adorable!

My daughter has named them Dolan and Daisy.

Hey I have a meal worm colony. I'm assuming live meal worms are ok instead of dried(per the feeding article)? I'm so glad I have them now. I did it for my son's lizard. Wish the wax worms had reproduced. I might have to try another kind of bug for variety!

I just use dried since I can get huge quantities cheap. Toss a handful into a bowl of water. Turn over some dirt with a shovel and toss them the worms. They'll recognize the shovel as a food-getter and follow you around. You can get a dozen feeder goldfish for a dollar or two. Throw them in a kiddie pool and watch the magic.

Now I have to start a meal worm colony.

It's insanely easy. I'll post the link to the best colony idea that I found. It had to be simple bc my son was required to keep up with it.
