Data from the Department of Justice shows that non-citizens accounted for a whopping 64 percent of federal arrests in 2018, as the number has spiked over the past several decades due to the worsening of the illegal immigration epidemic.

Non-citizens make up only seven percent of the population but make up a vastly disproportionate part of the federal arrest rate, the Department of Justice (DOJ) reports. Between the years of 1998 and 2018, the arrests of non-citizens at the federal level have spiked by 234 percent while U.S. citizen arrests have grown by only 10 percent.

This news bolsters President Donald Trump’s case that illegal immigration results in more crime and makes the U.S. less safe.

The Trump administration’s crackdown against illegal immigration has been effective in getting more non-citizen lawmakers off the streets. According to DOJ data, federal immigration apprehensions have increased by 50,000 from 2017 to 2018.

Non-citizens were also apprehended for a disproportionate amount of crimes not related to immigration offenses. They were charged with 28 percent of federal fraud cases, 25 percent of federal property offenses, and 24 percent of drug crimes.

No matter how you spin it, the data is clear: Illegals commit crimes at a drastically higher rate than American citizens. Recent reports in the news illustrate the horrors that occur regularly throughout the country due to illegal immigration and the sanctuary policies that open the door for violators to commit heinous acts.
