The fact that many are now focusing on the shooting events is evidence that media distraction is just as effective on people that are awake to their tricks. They don't have to be convincing necessarily, all they have to do is direct the focus.

We should be aware of these recent events, but I think it's more evidence that the direction everyone was going BEFORE they happened was probably on the right track.

These are distractions.
