i never understood why people i talk to cant understand how easy it is for someone who manufactured the computer to hack into a voting machine they made. no one seems to think its sus that our voting data is held on servers in Europe. apparently this is all a green light to just keep letting our government abuse us because we're asking for the people in office

I'm sure this is true, but it's a plot to keep the focus on the machines and off the underlying structure.
Note that the excerpt cites "robust risk-limiting audits." No Patriot who knows the truth about how those audits were funded and developed would make that statement. They were primarily funded by contracts with NSF and CISA and support from PO via DF, New Venture and Center for Democracy and technology. https://www.voting.works/faq
