Why do we even hold elections anymore? Just have Israel post on a website who our next president and members of congress are. No point wasting time and money on primaries or the general election. We don't even need them to pick every four years, it can be whenever they want to change.

Afaik, he's a naval spook. Desantis was Navy JAG, graduated from Yale and Harvard and was a fraternal member of Delta Kappa Epsilon (other members incl both Bushes and Brett Kavanaugh). Likely has some close connections to Navy Intelligence, as he personally oversaw the tortures and force feedings at Guantanamo (circa 2006) and then went on to report to Naval special warfare command and SEAL Team One. He's not one of the good guys.

Look, gotta get direct support for the 2% of the population that allegidly doesn't run 90% of the world and can no way kill off your bank accounts with a phone call. A simple gesture may cause them to freak out on you if you appear to be off the plantation. Plus, you are forgetting he had to ask for permission and do a photoshoot for his own "security" if he wants to have any shot at being president.
