I simply can't believe that 1) Anyone had the audacity to do that; and 2) that, given their federal employment, there was apparently NO system of checks in place. If they didn't catch federal employees double-dipping, we can only imagine the abuse that occurred in the private sector. .
Every single employee who took money should be fired, barred from future government employment, and required to pay restitution. They should also be prosecuted for fraud. There is NO way for any of them to rationalize this as a "mistake" bc they clearly knew they were still receiving their salaries.
