Lots of comments on social media about McCarthy getting the 218 but then the House NOT agreeing to the Rules Package. Not sure what part of it the moderates don't like but once McCarthy is elected Speaker, the Conservative group will no longer have any leverage against him.

McCarthy is just 'playing' Gaetz, et al, and everyone else seems to know it.
