The DOJ/FBI had access to the NSA 702 database to spy on Americans and they granted access to govt contractors during the Obama administration (one of them is likely Perkins Coie)............

Remember, Admiral Rogers found the abuse and ordered a review that resulted in the 99 page report -- which was published but heavily redacted. Many think the NSA database is the origin of the Spygate operation -- and after the abuse was discovered, the DOJ/FBI had to use the FISA courts to spy on Trump (hence the operation to setup Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, et al).

If this story is true, then the raid is about protecting Obama as much as it is about protecting the DOJ/FBI.

What is evident is that they are very desperate. They fully knew the firestorm their action would create, but their desperation drove them to it. Whether they got what they were after is doubtful.
