A ballot that is filled in incorrectly, should be null and void; in Danish elections there have always (in my time..) been a disclaimer in the voting booth and in the guidelines for mail-voting, stating that incorrectly filled in votes are not valid.. It's not rocket science; if you can't fill in a ballot correctly, you're dumb as shit and should not be allowed to vote anyway..
