Laying money on this having something to do with that Rand Corporation Tabletop exercise that started with Japan and ended with China taking over Taiwan. The exercise was published earlier this year. I shared it with some of you. 130 pages long. Begins with:

Restrainers have a variety of views about when to use force in the Asia-Pacific.

For many restrainers, the primary driver of U.S. posture in the region would be the defense of Japan.

Defending Japan against a major Chinese attack would likely require maintaining some forward-deployed U.S. naval forces and pre-positioned materiel in the Asia-Pacific.

My guess is he wouldn't go along with it. Buckle up and read that doc. I knew it was laying out the "future" months ago.

Thank you for posting this info.

I think that China is ready to take Taiwan but in fact must knock Japan out first.

Japan is in deep shit IMHO.

Is it possible Abe was concerned japan would become a casualty of two major powers fighting? (not unlike ukraine was betwee nato and russia)

I read that "exercise" months ago and the big question I had was how do you kick this off? How do you get to Taiwan via Japan. As soon as I saw this headline I immediately thought about that exercise. My guess is Abe wouldn't go along with the ff or this is the ff and sets Japan in motion.

the lack of official speculation or idealogical scapegoating by the japanese government (and international affiliates), says to me that this is potentially a narrative with an explicit goal. Why withhold speculation when thats the go-to in many sensational events? Unless of course theres a reason for withholding. Which tells me theres a next step to this.

Explains, in a manner of speaking, how the attacker obtained the means for this assassination.

So why was he assassinated? I read an article, but it said nothing.

I'm not sure a detailed motive has been released. This is what was in the article here:

The suspect said he was dissatisfied with and aimed to kill Abe, in a police statement, NHK said, citing police authorities.

Yeah, lots of stories coming out now. Here's a cleaned up link without all the tracking junk.

FTA:

reports that the weapon used in the shooting may have been homemade, meaning that existing gun controls could be ineffectual.

Which is what has been said all along. Despite any and all laws, criminals gonna criminal.

Thank you for posting this footage, I didn't have the heart to do it.

Sure shows that gun laws don't make a difference. Where there's a will, there's a way....

This kinda sucks. But it does prove that all your gun control is useless.

I found this funny, not funny comment on .win. This person is probably not too far from wrong!

– Everydaypast 1 point 4 hours ago +1 / -0 Given their logical reasoning skills regarding the clotshot, I'd wager leftys will still use this as a case for gun control.

How, I have no idea as I'm still trying to figure out their fear of purebloods.

Probably something along the lines of "See? Even Japan's gun control wasn't enough! Which means the US need even stricter gun control!!1!"

I have no doubt some will try to spin this this anti. The simple fact is, one trip to the hardware store and this dude made a working gun. Are we going to start requiring a license to goto home depot now? Ban chemistry so nobody can learn how to make powder? Almost anybody can figure out how to build a gun. You can't stop it. Face the facts, people intent on doing violence will find a way to do violence.

Don't give them ideas! ;) In some countries, you can't even have a spork or a butter knife...

Agreed, it's what I've always said. 👍
