Because they are communists and they want to weaken the military by sending a message if you serve you can end up homeless, and they can weaken the native population by importing people with vastly different cultures, norms, etc.
How many of those homeless veterans really are "veterans"? I have wondered if this is a lie the left puts out to try to make people more tolerant of the degenerates that infest the streets of their shit holes. I also wonder if this is a lie they put out to discourage enlistment.
