There is a HIPAA exemption written into red-flag laws. They justify it by saying that a red-flag would never be called on someone who wasn't a danger to themselves or others. The problem is: what about a vindictive ex? They can bring the red flag down on you for no reason at all and you have no rights instantly. What if you are politically inconvenient to the incumbent power, such as US vets? They decide you shouldn't have guns and poof red flag. This will have a side effect of disincentivizing people to seek mental health treatment if they actually need it, because they might be afraid that red flags would be used against them.
