The vaccines worked fairly well for the Alpha variant.
The problem with those vaccines were their use for variants other than Alpha.
That's the big pink elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about - trying to pigeon hole basically the wrong vaccines on a virus that doesn't exist "in the wild" anymore.
But why? Why would they (both the manufacturers and the governments) want to keep pushing them?
Because the governments paid for them and the manufacturers want to milk as much out of the old vaccines as they can.
They are openly admitting that they last only 3 months, now, against the existing variants (mostly omicron). Three months. That means they can push getting boosted every 3-6 months. That's a shitload of money! Why oh why would they release a new batch that could address the variants in the wild? It's just money printing, now. Record profits.
