While I am honored to be both a topic of discussion and a candidate for an interview, please understand that my decision to decline the offer is based on our collective safety. Each layer of anonymity we peel away from our protections reveals too much that can be used against us. It's a dangerous time and I'm already a big enough target in my own sphere of influence. For your and Justin's safety, be sure you moderate your own reveals as to keep yourselves safe from those who seek to unmask us. We are persona non grata to many out there so it's important to always look over your shoulder because someone could be there to put a knife in your back at any moment. And also be careful that you practice situational awareness rather than slip into paranoia instead. It's a fine line to walk and it certainly isn't an easy one.
But yes, thank you for the invite. Perhaps in due time we can forego the safety measures and have some real discussion and information sharing without the need to watch our backs.
