Wow, the timing is suspicious! IMO, they are screwed and they know it!

The revelation that the government had created a new board to fight “disinformation” prompted a slew of Nineteen Eighty-Four comparisons.

n Wednesday news broke that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)—a department that didn’t exist 20 years ago but today spends $52 billion annually—had created a new “Disinformation Governance Board.”

The news comes just days after Twitter accepted Tesla-founder Elon Musk’s offer to buy Twitter for $44 billion, a move that critics of the deal claimed could unleash disinformation. (Musk has been vocal in his support for free speech.)

DHS declined to be interviewed by the Associated Press, but issued a statement after news broke of the development.

“The spread of disinformation can affect border security, Americans’ safety during disasters, and public trust in our democratic institutions,” DHS said.

It's just unreal how far this country has fallen. The majority of gov. officials who took an oath to defend Constitution couldn't be more adverse to it. It's completely backwards. A quality house cleaning is in order.

Spot on! Think about all the people you grew up with. How many know the constitution? Of all the people I know now most know there is a constitution but few know anything but the right to bear arms and free speech. Oh, and they know what's not in it like "separation of church and state".

Now think about someone running for congress. What are the odds of them knowing the constitution?

Does anyone know how to hold a government official accountable for breaking this oath?

your point explains why the federally controlled education system purposefully churns out subpar students. harder to control the masses if they're intelligent, informed and organized.

i could go on but you and I'm sure most of the ppl on this site understand the point I'm making.
