Not all of a sudden. Have been since the beginning of human kind. Have you been living under a rock? You didn't know that Upper and Lower Viral Respiratory Infections cause blood clots and heart attacks? Any illness that affects the cardiopulmonary chain can cause blood clots and heart attacks. Pretty basic medical science.
