I have been watching MonkeyWerx on ytubs and he has been talking and showing all the anchored ships outside our west coast ports and now the ones anchored off Shanghai. Ships by the hundreds just sitting there, off shore. This is just one of many commodities that will be in short supply soon. 2 weeks? If they fixed it all right now, it would take months to work off the backlog alone of empty, idle ships, let alone re-start production lines. I see all kinds of badness coming down the pike. Hey, it's expected, right? God wins in the end, but the end is waayyyy off still! :)
I catch MonkeyWerx from time to time - however, another channel has been reporting on this for well over the past year. This channel has a number of very good videos, concentrating on the various issues.
I've posted links to this channel on shipping topics over the last few months. He does a good job of unpacking the underlying issues. As bad as Biden is screwing up the economy, and there are a lot of items fundamentally wrong - the US economy has some fundamental strengths. If the government were to actually help, get out of the way - the US could pretty quickly start to repair the fundamental damage, before the infrastructure is wrecked.
