Ideology is always changing, but money is always money. And nobody just walks away from billions.
I'm pretty cynical, and even I don't think money trumps ideology. Only an insular mindset would believe otherwise. Call it myopia.
But maybe I'm mistaken and not sufficiently cynical.
I'm gonna bet that you've never really been hungry, have you? I don't mean, "missed a couple meals" hungry. I mean you are starving and still have no idea where your next meal is going to come from and there's a good chance you are going to starve to death hungry.
I lived in AFG for over a decade. Islam is like a pair of shoes they put on and take off for convenience. It's an "ideology" only in so much as it suits them and supports and justifies doing basically whatever the fuck they want. And they know that money is money. There is even an old saying amongst the Afghans. "You can't buy and Afghan. But you can rent them."

Example. You are aware of the official policy of islam concerning homosexuality, right? How they treat homosexuals in general?
Yet I remember a young muslim asking an imam if it was okay to let another man fuck him in the ass repeatedly in order to stretch out his ass out so that he could put more explosives up in there, so when he becomes a suicide bomber he can make a bigger explosion and kill more infidels.
And the imam said, "Sure."
So, you see? If you can just somehow find a way to couch whatever your particular bullshit is in terms of "jihad", well that's makes it all a-okay!
