It's OK. White males just have to be that much smarter and harder working, even when the deck is stacked against them. Consider this a challenge.

I saw this first hand in the tech corporate world. If 2 people where up for the same position, it would always go to the minority or woman if they were approx. equal. Corporate HR had 'diversity' quotas they were constantly trying to fill.

So, to be a white male and to gain a management promotion, you had to be: >20% smarter & harder working than a woman or a dark skinned. If the person you were trying to get the position against was both woman and dark skinned, it would compound ... you'd have to be >40% smarter & harder working.

In this company I worked for (fortune 500) the white men were solid ... head and shoulders above the rest. They had to be to be to get the promotion as the deck was stacked against them in every way possible.

To get a promotion in that company ... I considered it a badge of honor. You were that much better than the others ... so much that they couldn't ignore you, despite their silly quotas.

Be so good that you can't be ignored.
