I fact checked that: didn't find anything to corroborate that beyond some conspiracy nut forum and tweet stuff. They never owned the patent to begin with because that's not how patents work when you work for a large company - you file them through legal, yes, and your name shows up as the filer. But the owner and holder is the company your work for. And that is the case when you look at the patent itself: The only actual truth in that conspiracy theory is the Rothschild argument: Blackstone owns a sizeable share but they are not the majority or even plurality shareholders.
