I'm a little uncertain of the meaning of the wording here:

Does that refer to photographs of actual child abuse, or to drawings and computer animations "depicting" child abuse?
And then there is this point:

Does that mean that none of these people actually engaged in any act of any form of child abuse whatsoever? Does it mean that all they actually did was look at pictures? And were those pictures photographs, or were they merely cartoons?
I'm just posting this because, at first glance, this story looks horrific. But it doesn't actually come out and say that any child was abused by anyone.

That means there were producers/studios/dungeons. This is among the sickest shit in existence.
The only thing worse than this, in all of human history, is the SAME type of stuff but they also murder and eat the kids.
You're looking at a news story of the second worst thing humans can possibly do.
The fact that they got caught is more telling of how stupid they are than of great police work. They obviously didn't follow good security practices in order for their ISPs to report them. The rings that have not been caught are probably worse and larger than this one. Time and improved techniques will help bring those bigger rings down.
