Putin doesn't give a rat's ass about corruption in American or Ukrainian politics, in fact he benefits because corrupt governments are politically weak. They can be blackmailed to stand aside while Putin wages economic warfare. Watch and see what industry gets Putin's attention first. If Ukraine leaders had been pure white and noble while Soviet Union disintegrated they would have held onto Soviet nuclear weapons and military equipment, but instead their weak leaders were blackmailed to accept foreign aid and surrender weapons to the Russian Federal government with broken promises of western protection. They split the aid money with their political pals and left their people naked to Russian aggression.
