It was too visible how they intend to use cryptos to control you. You think crypto is a safe haven and Canada destroyed that illusion. Additionally, it destroyed the illusion that liberalism is anything other than authoritarianism dressed up like a smiling nanny. They had to nip it in the bud. THIS was meant to go on further so the whole world could see how cryptos were a way to control you, but the "Elites" saw their mistake quickly and reversed course. Do not ever forget, crypto is a crypt. Where your choices and money go to die.
I admit that I have not researched crypto very thoroughly, but it seems so easily compromised that I can't believe people think it's somehow "better" than cash. Like cash, crypto can be "printed" from nothing. Like a bank account, a crypto account can be seized or raided or shut down or otherwise compromised.
If some dude has $5 million in bitcoin... what good will that do for him if he is unable to connect to the internet for any reason? Again, a similar problem to banks/cash, but seemingly easier to compromise. And this is going to be the savior? No, bullshit- going back to gold and silver is the only thing that makes sense as things are now.
If you hold you own private keys no one can make you give up crypto.
And you can give those keys to another person to transfer the crypto without the internet.
If you make 100 paper wallets with $100 each you could literally hand one to someone to transfer money and it wouldn't show up on the Blockchain.
Exactly, and the supply of crypto (depending on the specific crypto) is mathematically limited. Anyone that wanted to print crypto from thin air would have to take control of over 50% of the network. It's about as government-proof as torrents, more so because there are no centralized servers involved.
so it's just limited gold and silver and you lose your keys if you use it?
