I've read some of the Talmud. Basically lots of it is old men musing how to abrogate moral standards of the Torah/Bible old testament. Exactly opposed to what Jesus tried to teach. Jesus taught that rather than legalistically following the law one should incorporate the principles of the law into personal values. The Talmud goes the other direction.
