Teaching kids gun safety is right up there with sex safety. The earlier they learn the better off they will be. When I was in the 7th grade I was on a rifle team and we practiced in a gun range below the High School building.

The internet is going insane over a photo shared on social media of grade school kids in Wyoming learning gun safety.

The photo has spread like wildfire since being posted on Facebook garnering 66,000 shares and over 6,000 comments as of Tuesday afternoon.

The original posters have removed the photo, but as you know, the internet is forever.

Most comments were positive, but many people condemned teaching these kids about “gun safety,” and a lot of commenters said it was “training the next school shooter.”

Good grief.

Hours later, they removed the post but we have a screenshot of the mega-viral photo

I shot guns in boyscouts, mostly 22's and 12 gauges. I was the first in my group to get my merit badge for it, and it only took a few days. I kept going back to shoot more of course. I love bringing that up whenever liberals try to say that kids shouldn't be around guns.

If everyone at school knows how to shoot and might have a gun on them, there would be far fewer school shooters.

Certainly there would be someone in that school who would feel comfortable taking that gun away from the crazy student. When these shottings happen at schools fear is what renders most victims. Familiarity with guns reduces that fear.

scouts and hunting family

kids would bring their guns to school so they could go hunting before school and come right in, then go right back to hunting after school was let out
