You have to keep in mind that Canadians are subjects of the Crown. The Crown can generally do whatever the fuck it wants, whenever it wants. Our 'Bill of Rights' - the Charter of Rights and Freedoms - literally kicks off with a clause that says: 'You don't get any of these rights if they become inconvenient to us.' So, justice here is kinda relative.
