I'm not naive. And I'm not saying they don't have all this info. What I'm saying is why give them and a third party more? This is the kind of thinking that frustrates the heck out of me - it's right up there with "I don't have anything to hide, so it doesn't matter to me if they intrude on every aspect of my life."
how can you give them "more" if they already have it? I understand your thinking, but I think that train has left the station a few years ago.
The train has definitely left the station - and now we're going to give it another track by putting more information into the hands of ID.me and their their partners.
maybe you are not aware about how many "services" already require an ID.me account. It can't be stopped. We all didn't get involved enough years ago when this first started. As soon as everyone couldn't wait to put their most private info on facebook, twitter, instagram, linkedin, tiktok etc, it was all over anyway.
And if the IRS has all this information, why is it necessary to have a third party manage our online access to our tax information? It isn't.
they do it so it is easier for you to self incriminate.
