But will they impose an extra tax on the obese to cover type 2 diabetes? Or smokers or alcoholics for the extra cost of their self inflicted illnesses?
Great questions - to which we both know the answer. That being said, I want government out of healthcare PERIOD.
Not Quebec, but at my last two jobs the insurance was marked up a lot for smokers. One time they even made everyone take piss tests for nicotene.
In the state, last place I worked they did that, too. Then the next year it was if you had high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Then they tried to add if your BMI was over 29, and all the fat women in HR threatened lawsuits for discrimination.
