I'm watching it right now too!

Shows a lot of things: devastation of WWI and WWII on the home front, effectiveness of White homogeneous small towns, the jewery of banks, and how pure capitalism can rot, proper roles for women, and importance of having many kids.

When did it all go wrong I wonder.

Absolutly the best Christmas movie.

Next year do one of my favorite classics, "The Bishop's Wife", with Cary Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven. The whole movie is magical!

I've never seen that one. I'll have to check it out.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. They did a remake in 1996, with Whitney Houston. Though I've never seen it, I'm still confident enough to say, it could in no way, compare to the original. Cary Grant was one of the best!

I met my grandpa's great grandmother in 1961, barely remember it, she was 90 at the time, her folks went through the Civil War. But yeah, the fifties and sixties were great.

Holy shit, I can't imagine meeting people like that. I only know my two grandmothers, and I was born in 1981. You are blessed.

Yeah we watched live Ruby killing Oswald, crazy times, then came all the cultural changes, for the worse. I know Oswald's girlfriend, they worked together in New Orleans in '62. I talk to her on facebook and met her in Dallas, Oliver Stone was interviewing her while I watched.

One of the things that facebook is good for, I can talk to all these historical people but some die every single year.

I'm rambling. I long for the old days but I sure love the internet and the knowledge it gives.
